Web Comic News

A while ago, the famous sudo make me a sandwich popped into my field of vision (and magically appeared on my workplace’s bulletin board a few days later) . Only today did I discover that it’s actually an episode of xkcd, a pretty fine web comic. From the archives: Penny Arcade Parody, Reference Frames, Quantum Funniness. There’s more, but I’m tired of pasting links here and need to get on with my life.

The Economist Blogs

Wow, The Economist now has two blogs, Free exchange and, interestingly, Democracy in America. They seem to adapt to the blogosphere pretty well, too:

The Economist’s advice for the mid-term elections is this: throw the Republicans out. The Democrats may be “incoherent”, it says, but they can scarcely do worse than the Republicans have done already. A few “independent-minded” Republicans deserve to keep their seats, it says, but in general, “sometimes ruling parties become so addled and incompetent that they need to be punished”.

Teeheehee.
